Professional Development
Professional development is the process of enhancing staff skills and competencies needed to produce outstanding educational results for students. In designing professional development, the "client" must have a voice in the process from the start.
There are six (6) models on how job embedded professional development can be delivered.
- Professional Study Team:
Department or team addresses issues in teaching and learning. - Coaching, Mentoring or Supervising:
One-on-one learning opportunities focused on teaching practices. - Research:
Data-driven evaluation of issues about teaching practices and student learning. - Process or Product:
Develop materials, programs and products, which address teaching and student learning. - Independent Study:
Designed by participants to align with district goals. - Workshop or Conferences; Cooperative Inservice
Large group of participants to acquire knowledge or skills about classroom practice.

- District Administered Induction program approved by the Pikes Peak BOCES
