Each district will establish a GT district contact. This person will coordinate and assist in the screening, identification, ALP development and educational programming for students identified as gifted. The district GT contact will:
Lead the district team in the gathering and analysis of GT data. District teams will be composed of additional staff such as building administration, classroom teachers, or school psychologists and may change based on the student being considered.
Coordinate the on line universal GT screening that will take place for all 2nd and 6th graders fall 2017 to include; proctoring assistance, data analysis, distribution of CogaT data to appropriate staff and parents.
Contact and follow up for all GT referrals made within the district
Complete ALP initial and annual reviews in a timely manner.
Schedule and complete at least one school wide presentation regarding giftedness and the district’ s process of identifying & supporting gifted students.
Ensure information regarding the process of screening, identification, ALP development and programming is communicated to all stakeholders in the district community to include parents. Communication may be on the school/district website, through news letters, community publications, brochures and/or back to school nights.
